There are two ways to save your WhatsApp chat history:
-
Back up your chat history to Google Drive: This is the recommended method, as it will allow you to restore your chat history if you ever lose your phone or delete it accidentally. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup.
- Tap Back up to Google Drive and select how often you want to back up your chat history.
- Tap Back up now to start the backup process.
-
Export your chat history: This method will allow you to save your chat history to a file on your phone. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chats > More > Export chat.
- Select the chat that you want to export.
- Tap Without media or Include media depending on whether you want to include the media files in the chat history.
- Tap Export.
Your chat history will be saved as a .txt file on your phone. You can then transfer this file to another device or store it in a safe place.
I hope this helps!
Here are some additional things to keep in mind when saving your WhatsApp chat history:
- You can only back up your chat history to Google Drive if you have a Google account.
- The maximum file size for a WhatsApp chat backup is 1 GB.
- If you export your chat history, the media files will be compressed.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
