Telegram is a popular messaging app that offers a variety of features, including the ability to edit messages. This can be a great way to correct typos, add additional information, or change the overall message.
Quickly fix mistakes or add extra formatting and information to a message you've sent. Once changed, an edited label appears on the message bubble. You can also edit sent media to change, crop or correct photos and videos.
To edit a message on Telegram, follow these steps:
- Open the Telegram app.
- Go to the chat where the message is located.
- Tap and hold on the message that you want to edit.
- A small menu will appear.
- Tap on "Edit."
This will open a text editor where you can make changes to the message. Once you have made your changes, tap on the "Save" button.
You can only edit messages for a limited time after they have been sent. The time limit depends on the chat type:
- For one-on-one chats, you can edit messages for up to 48 hours after they have been sent.
- For group chats and channels, you can edit messages for up to 24 hours after they have been sent.
If you try to edit a message after the time limit has expired, you will see a message that says "This message cannot be edited."
